Scotch® Performance Masking Tape 233+ 26343, Green, 3 mm x 55 m, 12/Case

Auto body professionals will recognize the familiar green color of Scotch® Performance Green Masking Tape 233+. The distinctive green paper backing helps improve visibility for more accurate edge alignment and is highly conformable – it resists breaking even around complex contours of a vehicle, making for fast application and eliminating the need to apply additional tape. But the backing is only one part of the tape design, balanced specifically for superior performance in auto body paint repair and maintenance

The specially formulated adhesive bonds instantly, reducing rework on a variety of surfaces including EPDM. The adhesive resists water and chemicals, making it ideal for use with water or solvent based paint systems with no bleed-through, edge curl or lifting. A primer layer anchors the adhesive to the backing, virtually eliminating transfer to the vehicle surface. The tape removes clean without slivering, which can reduce labor costs.

This tape also resists temperatures up to 250ºF (121ºC) for up to 30 minutes, making it suitable for longer baking cycles. All of this is built into a very low-profile tape which won't leave high edges that require extra buffing or rework.

A release coating is added to the backing of this Scotch® Performance Green Masking Tape 233+ that gives it superior control during unwinding. This means that the tape is much less likely to wrinkle or pull away from the masking paper when used with a paper apron masker, even if the apron is pulled aggressively. This makes for a more accurate mask and eliminates paint blow-by.

Even the way the Scotch® Performance Green Masking Tape 233+ is packaged helps save money and adds value to auto body operations. Each 55-meter roll contains about 5 more inches of tape than lower-priced brands. Since this tape resists slivering, there's no need for the tab at the start of the roll which makes the tape usable from the very start. Also included is a coating on the inner core of the roll that releases the last wrap – commonly about 10 inches of tape that is unusable on lower-priced brands. The result is about 15 inches more tape per roll, or about 60 more feet of usable tape per case.
