Abrasives made from Scotch-Brite™ Roll 96 are designed to take on a wide variety of light, non-delicate, abrasive applications. They are most commonly converted into hand pads for cleaning on common kitchen items, but can also be effective in metal surface preparation and finishing in disc or belt form. Fast cutting abrasive grains are bonded to the nylon fibers using a resilient resin bond. These features combine to create an abrasive that is effective at removing surface irregularities and debris without scratching or damaging the surface.

This roll is filled with fine grade aluminum oxide, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. The aluminum oxide mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, and delivers consistent performance over a long lifespan. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used for grinding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for use on a wide variety of materials and surfaces.

Scotch-Brite™ cleaning and finishing products are developed with abrasives incorporated into nonwoven nylon or synthetic fibers. Combining abrasives with the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The nylon webbing material is load resistant to keep the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers, which also extends the life of the abrasive.
