3M™ Vinyl Tape 471+ is a conformable vinyl tape with a versatile rubber adhesive and a moderately translucent backing that allows for accurate masking alignment with simple or complex patterns. This vinyl tape provides clean removal without adhesive residue, even after a 30-minute bake cycle at 250°F (121°C). 3M™ Vinyl Tape 471+ brings performance and productivity for fine line masking in many critical painting applications. Sharp, clean paint lines for color separation are possible because it resists lifting and its versatile rubber adhesive bonds to a wide variety of surfaces, including resins, then lifts off cleanly from flat or compound surfaces. The tape conforms well to curves and is designed to stretch and hold, even with a radius as tight as 1.5-inches. It follows irregular designs to deliver sharp lines. Its moderate translucence allows for alignment where complex patterns are outlined. Flexible vinyl backing is also abrasion-resistant and will protect adjacent surfaces in most sanding operations. When finished, its one-piece removal preserves the sharp paint lines it helped create.

3M™ Vinyl Tape 471+ is a high-temperature paint masking tape designed to create sharp paint lines on complex jobs, including critical paint applications that feature detailed designs or curves. It has a semi-translucent indigo film backing designed to provide some visual clarity for alignment during application.
Designed with unique stretch properties, this tape conforms to rough, irregular, curved and convex surfaces. Tape remains stretched, without lifting to avoid paint bleed. The rubber adhesive offers quick stick and excellent holding strength on most substrates. 3M™ Vinyl Tape 471+ can be used in bake cycles at temperatures up to 250°F/121°C for up to 30 minutes. Once finished, it removes cleanly from most surfaces without adhesion build-up or ghosting. Conformability, instant adhesion and clean removal all make 3M™ Vinyl Tape 471+ an exceptional choice for most critical paint masking operations.
