Flexible Backing Conforms to Duct Piping Systems

3M™ Venture Tape™ ASJ Facing Tape 1540CW is a 10.8 mil, tri-directional reinforced tape that excels in demanding temperature and humidity applications. It is comprised of a kraft/scrim/foil laminated backing coated with a cold weather acrylic adhesive. The backing is flexible and conforms to irregular surfaces and curves. With excellent resistance to weathering, mold, UV and environmental conditions, this tape performs extremely well in extremely cold and hot temperature applications. Mold inhibiting agents help prevent the build-up of mold in the adhesive caused by humid and damp conditions.

3M™ Venture Tape™ ASJ Facing Tape 1540CW is UL 723 Classified (5/0 Flame/Smoke Rating). This facing meets ASTM1136, Type I, II, III and IV.

Cold Weather Performance

3M™ Venture Tape™ ASJ Facing Tape 1540CW is coated with a proprietary, pressure sensitive solvent acrylic adhesive specifically designed for cold weather applications, though this adhesive performs well at normal and high temperatures as well. With a service temperature ranging from -40°F/-40°C to 240°F/116°C, this tape can be applied in a variety of environmental conditions. This adhesive features a quick stick at normal temperatures and excellent low temperature performance. Once bonded, it will provide good holding power for extended periods with good aging properties that resist lifting and curling.

Efficient Long-Term Installation

3M™ Venture Tape™ ASJ Facing Tape 1540CW applies easily to various types of thermal insulation and is easily installed without special tools or application methods. The ASJ facing is conformable for consistent application even when applied to irregular surfaces or around curves. It is also tri-directionally reinforced, helping ensure that the material stays in place even when subjected to out-of-plane shear loads.
