3M™ Scotch Seal™ Tape 2229 is a 125 mil thick, highly conformable, tacky mastic pad on an easy release liner that's suitable for insulating, padding and sealing of objects that need to be protected from adverse environmental conditions. It withstands temperatures up to 194 °F (90 °C).

Keep various types of electrical connections from corroding with 3M™ Scotch-Seal™ Tape 2229. Its tacky mastic adhesive lets the tape stick tightly and helps keep out moisture, even on irregular surfaces, and it resists cracking even after repeated flexing. It's great for sealing ducts and cable end seals. The product's self-healing qualities mean cuts and punctures don't affect its stability in protecting metals, rubbers, synthetic cable insulations and jackets in a wide range of temperatures. This tape is RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant.
- Tacky mastic adhesive provides excellent adherence over irregular surfaces
- For insulating electrical connections rated up to 1000 volts if over wrapped with vinyl or rubber electrical tape.
- Also used for sealing high-voltage cable splice and termination accessories for 90º C continuous operating temperature.
