3M Scotch-Seal Mastic Tape Compound 2229 is a 125-mil thick, conformable, tacky mastic coated on an easy release liner. The adhesive is designed for quick insulating, padding and sealing applications that need to be protected from adverse environmental conditions, including UV exposure. Ideal for sealing high-voltage cable splice and termination accessories for a 90C (194F) continuous operating temperature.
- Conformable for easy adhesion and sealing over metals, rubbers, cable insulation, and irregular shapes
- Insulates electrical connections rated up to 1000 volts if vinyl or rubber electrical tape is over wrapped
- Used for sealing high-voltage cable splice, ducts, cable end seals, and protects from dust, soil, and water
- Tape has self-healing characteristics after being punctured or cut and has chemical resistance
- Use over a temperature range of 32F to 100F (0C to 38C) without loss of physical properties
- Available in multiple roll, strip and pre-cut pad sizes and RoHS 2011/65/EU Compliant
