3M™ CBN Polyimide Wheel 164PL is a cubic born nitride (CBN) mineral, resin bonded, abrasive wheel that delivers a balance of free cutting and form retention. For excellent durability this CBN abrasive wheel has been engineered to produce a high cut rate for fast stock removal. In addition, CBN wheels offer great chemical stability and have a low tendency to oxidize. These features allow this product to provide high thermal stability and can withstand high temperature grinding operations.

3M™ CBN Polyimide Wheel 164PL is used primarily for grinding primary and secondary relief angles on cutting tools made of tool steel and high speed steel. This general purpose wheel is designed for use on ferrous metal and offers high cut rates, increased form holding and increased thermal stability during higher temperature grinding operations.
