Most suitable for applications such as blending and finish sanding of contours, this diamond abrasive is built for use on hard-to-grind surfaces including thermal sprays, carbides, composites, chilled iron, non-ferrous metals and glass.

The diamond mineral particles on 3M™ Flexible Diamond Band 6457J are adhered using a metal bond. Metal bonds tend to be very tough — helping to retain the diamond abrasive and make it more durable. This flexible cloth backing works very well for complicated geometries.

The open dot pattern on each 3M™ Flexible Diamond abrasive product means that the diamond mineral particles are adhered to the backing in a series of small dots. This is designed to provide aggressive cutting action while also allowing consistent space for evacuation of swarf during use, helping reduce loading and prolonging the life of the abrasive surface without sacrificing cut rates.
