3M™ Adjustable Paint Masking Applicator is used to apply Scotch® Fine Line and 3M™ High Performance tapes on complex surfaces, such as the roofline or rear hatch of a vehicle. Designed especially for automotive original equipment manufacturers, these applicators are lightweight, intuitive and easy to handle, with an integrated cutter to help increase productivity.
A robust fine line tape applicator that’s lightweight and easy to handle Designed specifically for automotive OEMs, the 3M™ Adjustable Paint Masking Applicator applies masking tapes precisely and consistently on complex surfaces such as the AC pillar roofline or DD pillar rear hatch of a vehicle. These tape applicator tools are lightweight and adjust to apply Scotch® Fine Line and 3M™ High Performance tapes up to 3/4 inch (19 mm) wide to a variety of depths to meet customer design needs. The tool comes with an integrated full-cut blade installed and also includes a partial-cut blade for specific applications. It also has the largest applicator tip installed and comes with three graduated smaller tips, each of which can also be adjusted on the applicator. Magnets help keep the tool aligned on the part being taped while a separate magnet in the handle allows the tool to hang for storage. The AC pillar model has a tape head that allows tape application with the doors closed; both AC and DD application tools are available in right- and left-handed models. Simple replacement parts Easily replacing parts that wear out over time is integral to the 3M™ Adjustable Paint Masking Applicator. Each of the applicator tip sizes and cutting block options is available in the replacement part kit. Replacing these components is straightforward, with just a couple of screws for each part, and the parts are universal to both the AC-pillar and DD-pillar models.
