With its open coat construction and aluminum oxide mineral abrasive, the 3M™ Stikit™ Gold Disc 216U provides a sharp cut – more aggressive than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade – without as much dust accumulating on the disc. And its grades from P600 to P800 along with light A-weight paper backing make it ideal for feather-edging, as a final step before priming or for primer sanding.

Open coat construction means the abrasive grains on the 3M™ Stikit™ Gold Disc 216U are placed with space between them to help evacuate sanding dust and other debris to avoid clogging the cutting edge of the grains. The load-resistant coating on the abrasive grains also allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding paints and other materials that would otherwise clog the disc and hinder sanding ability. All of this adds up to increased productivity and reduced material consumption.

3M™ Stikit™ disc rolls are multiple adhesive-backed abrasive discs rolled into a tube. This makes them easy to tear off one at a time for speed and efficiency, and there's no need for liners which saves on material costs. These ready-to-use Stikit™ discs feature a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backs – simply press the disc onto the backup pad and you're ready to go. They remove just as cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. A Stikit™ disc should be used with a 3M™ Stikit™ Disc Pad (3M suggests 05555, 05556, 05575 or 00576, sold separately) on a random orbital sander.
