Zeta Plus™ UW Series filter cartridges are used for reconditioning insulating oils in the utility industry. The filter media in the UW Series formulation is specially formulated for use with dielectric oils contaminated with both carbon particles and moisture. Dielectric oil is a non-conductive, thin, light, clear and highly-refined version of mineral oil, used to cool submersible electric motors. Our 10UW grade helps provide ultrafine particulate reduction for the operation of power generation and transmission equipment. Reduction Efficiency Water contaminates the dielectric oil either from the atmosphere or breakdown of the oil itself. Water contamination is usually accompanied by particulate contamination, which then increases both the filtration and water reduction workload. Zeta Plus UW series formulation help solve both problems. Our formulation, available in both the 05UW and 10UW grades, combines efficient reduction of particulates with high performance moisture reduction. Automatic Shut-off on Saturation The construction of Zeta Plus™ Series 05UW and 10UW cartridges allows them to plug on saturation with water, effectively shutting off flow. This feature is important for two reasons. First, it provides a clearly defined end-point to filter life. Second, the automatic shut-off helps prevent recontamination of the filtrate with water . User-Friendly Design Optional cartridge reduction baskets are available for manually or mechanically installing and removing cartridges. Clean oil means both proper insulation of transmission devices and quenched arcs in circuit breakers and other devices.
